1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using Hexe AI (“Hexe,” the “Service,” “we,” or “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service or connect a third-party account.

If you use Hexe on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. The Hexe service

Hexe is an open-source project building a modular, local-first AI control plane for home, edge, and trusted external execution. Its source code is developed publicly in the Hexe project repositories on GitHub. It includes Core, Supervisor, Nodes, device endpoints, user interfaces, automations, voice and interaction services, and optional third-party integrations such as Gmail.

Features may be experimental, self-hosted, locally operated, incomplete, or changed as the project evolves. Documentation and status labels distinguish current features from planned capabilities, but they are not guarantees of future availability.

3. Accounts, credentials, and Google authorization

You are responsible for safeguarding administrator credentials, host access, OAuth client credentials, API keys, devices, and connected accounts. You must promptly revoke or rotate credentials you believe are compromised.

When you connect a Google account, you authorize Hexe to access and use Google user data only for the permissions shown on Google’s consent screen and as described in our Privacy Policy. Current Gmail features may request permission to read messages, modify labels or mailbox state, and send email. You may revoke access through your Google Account at any time.

You represent that you have the right to connect each account and process its data. You must not connect another person’s or organization’s account without authorization.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Configure and use Hexe in compliance with applicable law, provider terms, and the rights of other people.
  • Review automations, classifications, generated content, extracted information, recipients, and consequential actions before relying on them.
  • Maintain appropriate host security, backups, network controls, and physical security for self-hosted systems and devices.
  • Provide any notices and obtain any permissions required for microphones, recordings, voice identification, email processing, monitoring, or automation in your jurisdiction.
  • Keep Google Cloud consent-screen information, authorized domains, redirect URIs, scopes, and project contacts accurate.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Hexe to:

  • violate law, privacy, intellectual-property, contractual, or other rights;
  • gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, networks, devices, messages, or data;
  • send spam, phishing, malware, deceptive communications, or unlawful automated email;
  • harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate against, or materially harm another person;
  • circumvent security controls, provider quotas, consent requirements, or access restrictions;
  • use Google user data for advertising, sale, credit decisions, generalized AI-model training, or another purpose prohibited by Google policy; or
  • interfere with or place unreasonable load on the Service or connected providers.

6. Third-party services and generated output

Hexe may interoperate with Google, Cloudflare, AI providers, messaging systems, hardware vendors, and other services selected by the operator. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their availability, policies, output, or account decisions.

AI-generated classifications, summaries, responses, and extracted records may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are assistive outputs, not professional advice. You remain responsible for verifying important information and approving consequential actions.

7. Software, content, and feedback

Hexe includes open-source software governed by the licenses distributed with the applicable repositories and components. These Terms do not replace those licenses. Hexe names, branding, website content, and materials not provided under an open-source license remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant only the rights reasonably necessary to process that content to provide the features you request. If you provide feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or payment, provided it does not identify you or disclose your confidential information.

8. Changes, availability, and beta features

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit features, integrations, models, endpoints, or supported hardware. We may impose reasonable limits to protect security, reliability, provider quotas, or other users. Updates may require configuration changes, migrations, firmware updates, or reauthorization.

We do not promise uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, error-free output, compatibility with every device or provider, or continued availability of third-party APIs.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Hexe at any time and revoke connected-provider access. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful use, material breach of these Terms, provider requirement, or threat to the Service or others.

Stopping use or revoking provider access does not by itself delete locally stored data. Follow the deletion process in the Privacy Policy and remove applicable data from self-hosted systems and backups.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HEXE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR RELIABILITY.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HEXE AI AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS; UNAUTHORIZED ACCOUNT ACTIVITY; DEVICE OR AUTOMATION ACTIONS; OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICE FAILURES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid directly for the affected Service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, so these limits may not apply to you.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Hexe evolves. The effective date identifies the current version. When required, we will provide additional notice of material changes. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable open-source licenses form the agreement governing the Service.
